Are your employee owners healthier?

I am back.  I did it. I actually took a full two weeks of PTO and managed to stay pretty disconnected from the office. I did check e-mail periodically but really just to read the title or perhaps the first two to three sentences of the-email.

And I will admit that I think I am more productive after such time away. So that promised benefit of taking PTO seems to have been delivered.

There are many promised benefits of employee ownership but I will admit that this one caught my eye -   “In his book, The Impact of Inequality, Wilkinson suggests that employee ownership may provide a path toward greater equality and consequently better health.”

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if a company could reduce the cost of health insurance over time by promoting employee ownership?  I would be curious to hear from any ESOP companies as to whether they felt the health of their employees increased because of the employee ownership.
